The Quad-City Times Bix 7 celebrates its 51st running in 2025, bringing runners and walkers together for a legendary 7-mile race through downtown Davenport. This historic out-and-back course begins at the base of Brady Street Hill, featuring live bands, enthusiastic crowds, and a chance to “Run with the Best” alongside  Olympic medalists and elite athletes, including legend Bill Rodgers. Starting at the Mississippi River and ending with the Midwest’s biggest post-race party, the Bix 7 is more than just a race—it’s an unforgettable celebration of community, competition, and fun!

Beat the Elite

Russell’ s Beat the Elite athletes will be given the opportunity to race and beat the overall winner of the Quad-City Times Bix 7. The two people selected will be given a head start depending on the needed handicap to make the event competitive. If the chosen runners “beat the elite” to the finish line, he or she will win …$2,500!

Elite Athlete Information

Runners expecting to be seeded in the fastest group may apply for our elite corral. Proof of qualifying time must be uploaded during registration. Entries are subject to approval by race officials. Those not meeting requirements will be placed in the appropriate corral. Contact John Tope, Elite Athlete Coordinator, with questions at ontherunus@comcast.net.

Teams Competition

Running teams from across the country will compete for over $5,000 in team prize money in the Caesars Sportsbook Teams Challenge! Teams of five will take on the challenging 7-mile course, with the fastest four runners scoring. The team with the lowest total time wins and prize money awarded to the top three male and female teams. Gather your squad and go for the win! To register, contact Kyle at Bix7Kyle@gmail.com.

Premier Buick GMC High School Challenge

The first IA or IL male & female high school finishers to cross the Bix 7 finish line, win $1,000 for their high school. All Iowa and Illinois high school athletes, including incoming freshman and outgoing seniors are eligible to participate. Winning does not negatively impact athletic eligibility in high school or collegiate competition.

All high school aged runners should select the Premier Buick GMC Dealers’ High School Challenge when they register for the Quad-City Times Bix 7.

Scott County Regional Authority All City Challenge

The Scott County Regional Authority All City Challenge winner is determined by taking the times of the five fastest men and five fastest women from each of the Quad-Cities and dividing the total by 10 to get the fastest average time. Fastest city receives the Nancy Kapheim traveling trophy and cash award. 2024 1st place was Bettendorf, 2nd place was the City of Davenport and 3rd place the City of Moline.

Buick GMC Dealers’ First Responders’ Challenge

Who’s got the fastest Fire, EMS, Medic, Police & Sheriff department in the area? Teams of 6 compete for cash prizes and bragging rights in the Premier Illinois Iowa Buick GMC Dealers First Responders Challenge. Age Group Awards

Thanks to Green State Credit Union, the Quad-City Times Bix 7 celebrates almost 200 Age Group Winners by hosting an in-person awards ceremony at the R. Richard Bittner Downtown YMCA, 11:00 am race morning. Categories are 15 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, etc, ending with 85 and over category.
